Professional engineers and limited licence holders in Ontario must complete the Practice Evaluation and Knowledge (PEAK) program every calendar year.
PEO is committed to enforcing mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) based on PEAK, beginning with the 2024 calendar year. PEO is committed to operating a CPD program that serves the public interest while accounting for licence holders’ circumstances. Enforcement will eventually include administrative suspensions for those who are non-compliant, as well as an audit program to ensure that requirements are being met.
The three elements of PEAK program to be completed annually are:
- Practice Evaluation – a self-administered assessment
- Professional Practice Module – a self-paced learning module
- Continuing Professional Development Report – a reporting mechanism

Nathalie will talk about the annual professional development requirement for PEO licence holders which is administered through the Practice Evaluation and Knowledge (PEAK) program.
