Our main event is open to Grade K – 10 and younger siblings from Oakville and Milton! This day will be filled with a variety of activities to showcase different aspects of engineering. The day will begin with a ‘Speed Engineering’ activity where students can talk to engineers from diverse array of disciplines.
Next up is the highlight event… a Design Challenge! Students will work in teams to design and build a structure to fit the requirements of the challenge set for them. Each design will be tested later in the day in front of the whole group.
Following a pizza lunch (provided for all participants) you can participant in mini-Engineering Design activities or talk to the people at our showcase where you can learn about student groups and opportunities.
We look forward to seeing everyone for this fun-filled day learning about The Wide World of Engineering! All of these activities also provide students with the opportunity to win prizes!
We encourage participants to bring a water bottle as drinks will only be provided at lunch. There are water fountains throughout the school
How you can support the Chapter – Do you work for a company that would like to sponsor the event? Would you or a colleague like to be one of our ‘Speed Engineers’ to educate participants about your discipline? Contact Susan at education.
