To raise awareness of engineering among young people through engineering education outreach activities for both students and teachers.

Oakville Family Day – As part of Oakville’s Family Day programming we will have a room where families can complete engineering activities together.
National Engineering Month – The Oakville Chapter runs a full day event the first Saturday of March as part is of National Engineering Month. Students up to grade 8 are invited to come and learn about engineering through a variety of events, including a design challenge. High school students are encouraged to volunteer.
High School Scholarship – Released annually in March, this scholarship is open to grade 12 students who will be entering an engineering university program in the fall.
Oakville Children’s Festival – Find our booth at the Children’s Festival to participate in engineering activities.
Teacher Information Night – Teachers are our best allies in educating students about engineering and the possibilities it offers. Invite any teachers you know to this event, so they can learn about engineering themselves.
Could Engineering be for You? – This dinner events is hosted annually on the Wednesday following Thanksgiving. High School and University students are invited to come and meet practicing engineers to learn about the profession. Teachers and parents are also welcome to attend and learn how they can support young people on this path.
There are a variety of opportunities to give back and share your love of engineering with young people.
General Volunteer – sign up to help for the event itself.
Lead Volunteer – coordinate an event with the support of the Education Chair and executive. Option to be on the executive committee.
Education Chair – in addition to education events, attend monthly executive board meetings.
